1、 Pathological diarrhea of piglets

Generally, diarrhea caused by epidemic diarrhea virus, infectious gastroenteritis virus and rotavirus bacteria alone or in combination is pathological diarrhea. When bacteria or viruses cause pathological changes in the intestines of piglets, it will cause diarrhea in piglets. This type of diarrhea has the characteristics of short course of disease and high mortality, and the phenomenon of nest death often occurs.

For pathological diarrhea of piglets, prevention is generally the priority, and scientific and hygienic methods are adopted to prevent piglets from being attacked by germs. Take immediate measures to isolate the sick pigs after the disease, spray the excretions and vomitus with pig veterinary medicine, and wash them after about half an hour. The sick weaned piglets were given oral veterinary medicine, and the sick lactating piglets were sprayed with piglet-specific medicine, and the symptoms could disappear after a few days.

2、 Physiological diarrhea

Physiological diarrhea is different from pathological diarrhea. Physiological diarrhea is only caused by the incomplete development of piglets' physiological system, the unsound digestive system and thermoregulation skills, the poor resistance to external influences, the decline of piglets' immunity, the imbalance of digestive function, and the reproduction of pathogenic microorganisms in the intestine.

Because the physiological diarrhea of piglets is mostly caused by the inadequate digestive system and temperature regulation skills, and the digestive function disorder, which leads to the excessive reproduction of pathogenic microorganisms in the intestines, we can feed piglets with non-solid feed in combination with intestinal health care drugs for physiological diarrhea.

3、 Stress diarrhea

Stress diarrhea in piglets is mainly caused by factors such as weaning, environmental changes and feed changes. Especially, piglets after weaning are prone to diarrhea due to weaning stress. After weaning, piglets' absorption of nutrition, adaptation to feed and changes in environment and psychology will lead to stress diarrhea in piglets.

In the face of piglet stress, we should first supplement feeding in advance, exercise the gastrointestinal tract of piglets, and avoid nutritional stress of piglets. Secondly, we should gradually transition to weaning, so as to reduce the psychological stress of piglets. In the post-weaning stage, we should transfer the mother to keep the piglets, and transfer the sow to the same litter of piglets to stay in the original shed for a few days before merging, so as to reduce the impact of environmental stress.

4、 Effective and good treatment for piglet diarrhea

1. Viral diarrhea

Diarrhea caused by epidemic virus may occur in both pigs and piglets. However, if the piglets are infected with this disease, the mortality rate may reach, and the infectious rate of viral diarrhea is very fast. If one pig is infected, the whole group may be infected, and it is impossible to prevent it. Viral diarrhea serum and interferon are the drugs for viral diarrhea. At present, there are no drugs for viral diarrhea on the market. If the disease of viral diarrhea is found in the pig farm, then only prepare for the injury and death of piglets.

2. Bacterial diarrhea

There are many kinds of bacterial diarrhea, such as those caused by Escherichia coli, Clostridium welchii or Salmonella. The common bacterial diarrhea in pig farms is caused by Escherichia coli. Piglets with yellow and white dysentery also belong to bacterial diarrhea. Piglets with diarrhea caused by bacterial infection will generally pull yellow dilute feces. This type of diarrhea can be treated with enrofloxacin, berberine sulfate, and 10% florfenicol, which have good effects. The mortality of bacterial diarrhea is also high, but as long as it is timely, the effect is better than that of viral diarrhea.

3. Nutritional diarrhea

This kind of diarrhea usually occurs during the weaning period of piglets. During this period, if the diet eaten by piglets contains some antigenic substances and the piglets are not fully digested, it may cause nutritional diarrhea. If the faeces of piglets contain undigested feed samples, it is undoubtedly nutritional diarrhea. In addition to this disease during weaning, it is also easy to develop nutritional diarrhea when changing feed for pigs. There is no need for farmers to worry about this kind of diarrhea. The first thing to do is to supplement the pigs with vitamins, and prevent the pigs from dehydration, and then use some laxative injections. Among all diarrhea, nutritional diarrhea is better.

4. Others

In addition to the above three types of diarrhea, there are stress diarrhea and parasitic diarrhea. The premise of stress diarrhea is a sudden change in the environment or diet. For example, pigs that have been transported over a long distance are likely to have stress diarrhea. In this case, what the breeders need to do is to find ways to reduce the stress of the herd. Parasitic diarrhea is usually caused by the presence of nematodes, roundworms and other parasites in the digestive tract of pigs. To prevent this kind of diarrhea, it is to timely deworming sows and fattened pigs.
